A native Washingtonian, I attended the University of Maryland for both undergraduate studies and my legal education. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy in 1988 and my law degree in 1991. I passed the CPA exam in one sitting in 1995.  I have completed the certificate program (in conjunction with pursuing an LLM in taxation) in estate planning and wealth transfer at the Georgetown University Law School and continue my studies towards the LLM.

I have over twenty years experience in public accounting, private industry, and litigation. I have extensive experience in financial reporting and analysis. As an attorney, I have tried numerous cases in both civil and criminal actions. I have served as General Counsel to a software development company and as Vice President and CFO to a telecommunications solutions provider.

Prior to attending undergraduate school, I played semi-professional hockey in Canada. I am an avid sailor and I also enjoy flying (FAA licensed private pilot), fishing, and hunting. I am an active member of my church where I am Chairman of the Finance Committee and a member of the Church Council. I live in Damascus, Maryland with my wife.
